The Stage has been in development since 2008. I've developed it for three reasons:

  • to create more interactive encounters in tabletop RPGs; and
  • to create a flexible RPG system that does not limit player choices; and
  • because it's fun.

Since its inception, the Stage has undergone a lot of changes which have resulted in 3 key features that realize the development goals I had in mind.

First is the Action System. The Stage has a turn-based action system that is interactive: players get to make tactical choices outside of their own turns that influence the actions of others.

Second is Unlimited Character Building. Players are free to design characters however they like; there are no limitations such as classes, occupations, paragons, etc.

Third is Setting Flexibility. The Stage is not limited to a single setting, but can be adapted to accomodate any setting.

All of this has resulted in a flexible, tactical, and engaging game.

The Stage is not yet done, however; there is still a lot of room for improvement.

That's where this website comes in. Through it, I hope to share the Stage so that people can get on it to play, tell some stories, and have fun. I hope to receive feedback from these people that will help me in the development.
